How to Create a Monthly Content Calendar
A content calendar is not a spreadsheet of dates — it is a decision about what you will publish, why, and how often you can realistically keep it up. Here is a repeatable monthly process that takes a couple of hours and removes the daily scramble.
Start with the goal for the month
Every month should serve one main objective: launch a product, fill a course intake, build awareness in a new city, support a seasonal peak. Write it at the top of the calendar. When you are deciding whether a post earns its slot, that sentence is the test.
Confirm who the month is for
Audiences differ by campaign. A month aimed at existing customers looks nothing like one aimed at people who have never heard of you. Note the audience, the problem they have right now, and the one action you want them to take.
Choose your content pillars
Three to five recurring themes keep the month coherent. For example: teach, prove, people, offer. Assign a rough share of the month to each — for instance 50% teach, 20% prove, 20% people, 10% offer — and tag every planned post with its pillar so imbalance is visible at a glance.
